Visit the Woodlawn Museum
- Tour the historic Col. John Black house.
- Take a stroll through the formal garden and tea lawn. Lilac hedges,
perennials, horse chestnut trees, hemlocks and a community garden.
- Play traditional six-wicket croquet on the perfectly flat court planted
with bent grass and mowed to ¼ of an inch in height. The only championship
level court in Downeast Maine available to the public for a fee.
- Picnic and play on the spacious and grassy lawns.
- Enjoy the over two miles of
trails
for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, running and of course walking.
- Woodlawn Museum is located on Route 172 (Surry Road), approximately ¼
mile from downtown Ellsworth.
